Spring is finally here, and I couldn’t be happier about it! Although it’s still quite chilly here in Toronto, the skies have cleared up, and we are finally seeing more sun. To celebrate the beginning of warmer weather, I’m dedicating this post to some of my favourite spring beauty trends. I’ll be chatting with you about my necessities to achieve clear skin, pastel nails, and glossy lips. 1. Good Molecules Clarify & Cleanse Bar* (CAD 11)
This soap-free cleanser detoxifies the skin without drying it out, so even the most sensitive of skins can use this. Salicylic acid and tea tree oil help to treat and prevent blemishes, while kaolin clay balances excess sebum. Rosehip and grapeseed oils nourish and maintain a healthy moisture balance to promote elasticity.
Prior to introducing this cleanser to my routine, I did a skin detox to clear my pores and eliminate any surface toxins. Typically after two weeks of a detox, my pores begin to clog up again and blackheads become more noticeable. However, this time around, my skin’s stayed clear, identical to its state right after the detox two weeks ago. My complexion’s remained smooth and soft, and I’ve also noticed that my t-zone is less oily during the day.
I’ll be sure to let you guys know how my skin’s doing after one month of use, so make sure to be following me on IG to be the first to know any updates! This cleansing bar has given me the confidence to rock my natural skin with little to no foundation and concealer. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect since I love going foundation-less during the warmer seasons.
2. Essie Nail Polish in Fiji (USD 9)
Pastel pink nails are a must for me in the springtime, and Essie’s Fiji is my absolute favourite pastel candy pink shade. The formula is a bit streaky, so I’d recommend waiting for your first coat to fully dry before applying your second coat of polish. Another pastel pinky-purple shade I love is Essie’s Muchi, Muchi (also goes by the name Guchi Muchi Puchi).
Strangely enough, I’ve recently fallen in love with pastel powder blue nails, and the Essie Gel Couture polish in Perfect Posture is my absolute favourite! The Gel Couture line has the perfect long-lasting polish formula without having to actually use a gel/led lamp.

3. AlumierMD Sheer Hydration Broad Spectrum Sunscreen* (CAD 48)
Now that the sun’s out, it’s imperative to apply sunscreen liberally whether you’re spending the day outdoors or just driving in your car. The award-winning AlumierMD Sheer Hydration SPF 40 protects against UVA and UVB rays with the combination of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. Vitamin E helps to moisturize the skin, while an abundance of antioxidants help protect the skin from UV damage.
With the change of season upon us, my skin is in need of all the hydration it can get, and this SPF adds a boost of moisture without feeling heavy or greasy on the skin. I love how this formula just melts into the skin once applied and makes my skin feel so smooth and silky, acting as a great base for makeup as well. Whether I’m going full glam or just applying some concealer, my makeup sits beautifully on top of this SPF; my makeup doesn’t crease or slide off my face like it does with some other sunscreen products I’ve tried.
4. Fenty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer (CAD 25)
Glossy lips are a must for spring and summer, and no one does lip gloss like Fenty Beauty does. The formula is ultra glossy without being heavy, sticky, or goopy. These glosses are light-medium coverage, so they work beautifully alone or layered on top of your favourite lip product.
My current favourite shades are Glass Slipper* and Fu$$y. If you’re looking to try a variety of shades, this set of minis is definitely the way to go.
5. Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit (CAD 53)
I’m beyond excited that this Glow Kit has been brought back since this is my absolute favourite ABH Glow Kit. I love that this has six shades to choose from, so whether I’m the palest I can be or super tanned, there’re at least two shades perfect for my skin tone. The formula applies so smoothly onto the skin to give the most beautiful intense glow, perfect for the warmer weather.
That’s it for my top 5 spring beauty essentials! Although this is a difficult time for all of us, I’m trying my best to keep up with my regular routines to keep myself occupied.
