The Makeup Revolution The Wants eyeshadow palette is one of the most controversial makeup launches to be talked about recently. This palette is created in collaboration with Youtuber Emily Noel, and also comes with a sister face palette.
By now, I’ve heard both sides of the review: amazing palette with beautifully made shadows vs. terrible blendability and lack of pigment. With so much debate on this palette, I was dying to get my hands on it, and thanks to Orabel and their insanely fast shipping, I was able to put this palette to the test for the past few weeks!

PACKAGING
When I first saw this palette, I couldn’t believe how big it is! I wouldn’t take a palette of this size with me when I travel since it doesn’t fit into any of my makeup bags. It’s encased in a sturdy pink plastic packaging and a large good quality mirror is included.
PRODUCT
I was very underwhelmed by this palette at first swatch. The shadows’ pigmentations were decent at best, and their textures felt like they would be difficult to work with.
However, after actually applying the shadows to my lids, some of the shades really wow’ed me! The warm-tone mattes like Midwest and Dues Paid, have just the right amount of pigment and beautiful blendabilty. The shimmers are also phenomenal, despite my first impressions from my finger swatches. To really intensify them on the lids, I spray a bit of Mac Fix+, which always does the trick.
With that being said, there are a couple of shadows that were a huge disappointment to me, especially Corduroy. Corduroy was the shade I fell in love with after seeing the palette for the first time, but the pigmentation just wasn’t there. No matter how I tried to build it up, the rich green that I see in the pan did not translate over to my lids.
The Makeup Revolution The Wants palette is a really pretty eyeshadow palette with a great shade selection. There are some beautifully formulated shadows in this palette, but also a one or two not-so-great ones. With a palette this size, I’m not surprised that there are a couple of misses. For its price, I would definitely get it for the 90% of the shadows that have wow’ed me.
